She remains a pioneering industry figure throughout the UK and Europe and has asserted herself as an authority across a spectrum of disciplines, from anatomy and physiology to thermo - auricular therapy.
Through a deep seeded and ever expanding knowledge of the body and its inherent properties Nico Austin has crafted a unique approach to massage and complementary therapies. Adopting a very hands-on approach to her work in every sense, the mother of four scrutinizes all aspects of her service, refining techniques she herself has devised and formulating exclusive essential oils and lotions as part of the aromatherapy and wider alternative treatments.
Ms. Austin has achieved exceptional training and accreditation from a range of internationally recognised institutions including the International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC) and EMBODY (previously the International Guild of Professional Practitioners) as well as holding a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in massage therapy. Her eclectic career has seen her provide services in the UK and Europe, operate as an advisor to an NHS body on alternative therapies and work alongside professional sports teams. In 2005 Nico was invited to provide physical therapy for the PA Knights American football team; touring throughout the UK she specialised in the treatment of muscular stress, joint problems and after care for any sports injuries sustained during games. Nico Austin also worked as the Holistic Consultant Advisor for the National Health Service at the Outpatients Centre at Harrow Middlesex Hospital where she presented lectures and demonstrations on stress management and alternative therapies. She provided individualised treatment for hospital staff and assisted in the development of a "rehabilitative post-operative cardiac patients program" educating patients in basic at-home massage therapy techniques.
During the early 2000s Ms. Austin was owner of the holistic Green Room clinic in West Hampstead. In 2006, as a massage therapy consultant for a team of doctors with Hersonissos Medicare, she developed and established holiday health packages for resorts in the Greek island of Crete. Nico is committed to nurturing and developing her practice and is set to expand her operation from the current Nico Tailored Therapies clinics in London to establish a further service in Crete in the coming year.
